Hi,
I (well my dad) bought 5 YCams. which he planned to use wiith a Synology disc / surveillance station.
They all came with firmware 3.25, which isn't available to download.
Mpeg4 wouldn't work at all with the Synology with firmware 3.25, however I risked downgrading 1 to 3.22 and now it works fine.
Before I downgrade the rest, anyone any idea what I will be loosing by doing this

Firmware 3.25 is now available on the site.
I downloaded it it and upgraded my 3.25 to that 3.25 despite the dates etc being identical, just to check.
it still breaks mpeg4 on the synology.
However now that 3.25 is available I can quite happily downgrade all my cameras.

Just had some news from Y-cam.

Synology has released a new firmware which resolves these issues with Y-cams running firmware 3.25.

To resolve please upgrade your Synology device.

Just checked, the most recent firmware for my DS109 is
Version: DSM 2.2-0959; Build Date: 2009/11/13
which is the one I'm using, however I have seen a
Version: DSM 2.2-1041; Build Date: 2010/01/06 for some of the other machines so will keep checking.

ok..
DSM 2.2-0959; Build Date: 2009/11/13
is the latest firmware for the DS109.
there may be a new beta firmware end of Jan, but thats not confirmed.

DSM 2.2-1041; Build Date: 2010/01/06 is actually only available for the new
DS1010+ which ix x86 based.

any idea what the new firmware no which is so-posed to fix these issues is?

Ok Just upgraded to DSM 2.2-0965 2010/01/25
however the issue still remains.. Y-cam 3.22 mpeg4 works y-cam 3.25 mpeg4 doesn't

so new synology firmware did not fix the issue

sigiweb. Please look at dogbobs other posts before you write off Synology.
