Ideas for disguising a small cctv camera for front of my house? I want to instal one to cover the front door of my terraced house, there is no path as door situated directly on pavement. I have a white upvc door with a small glass window, no spy hole, one window downstairs and two upstairs at front. I dont want the camera visible. Them wall lamps with built in cctv are no good, it would be too obvious as a lamppost right outside. Suggestions?

|
|
I've bought Pelco IXSCO Sarix camera to which I've installed it at the pole (8meter high). After 2-3days installation, I found that the camera was down (does not appeared in ENDURA system). I tried to ping the camera IP address of which I've configured a static IP address for the camera but would not be able to reach the camera. I went to the pole and bring the camera down to my lab. I tried to power up the camera but no LED signal which mean the camera was malfunction. I suspect the camera was damage due to lightning after the rain the day before. I've check the current stability at the pole of which the current voltage from the power source was at 240 and I'm using 24VAC transformer to power up the camera. I found the current flactuation was at the highest of 248 and from the transformer highest reading at only 24.8V. I do put metal oxide varistor (MOV) at the output of the transformer as a precaution of lightning and also I do installed surge arrestor from the ethernet switch to the camera and at the pole to protect the camera from surging.
What would be the caused of the camera to damage? This is the second damage of the camera after the first replacement due to damage camera too. Does this SARIX camera cannot stand out-door environment?
Anyone have any idea how does this camera should be install? Any specific requirement or procedure?
Thank you. |
