Store video on external usb hard drive?

Postby Dude » Thu Nov 06, 2008 2:16 am

I recently purchased a few Y-cam White cams.

I would like to store motion activated videos on an external usb hard drive which is connected to my Airport Extreme Base Station.
The main purpose of this setup is that I won't have to leave on any computers while I am away.

Does anyone know if this is at all possible and if so how?
If not, is there any other way I can get motion activated videos to store on a external usb hard drive without the need to leave any computers on?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

There are plenty of network harddrives which do also support ftp access. I guess that will be the way to go, after you can set up almost any camera to store pictures at a ftp site.

As far as I am aware the video creation function is handled by ActiveX so it won't work unless you are either viewing the camera or running the MultiLive software on the PC.

The only thing you can do with the PC off is transfer static images by FTP or email.
